bush is the most irresponsible, and incapable of handling the responsibilites of the office person to have ever been anywhere near the presidency in the history of this country... there is a culture of anti-intelligencia in this country and a culture of racism...
whatever decent republicans there may be, and i admit, there must be many... the fact remains that the republican party can not ever win without the solid support of the kkk and neo-nazi sympathizer vote...
and at the end of the day, the compromises that the gop has had to make to placate these people has sown the seeds of the most destructive to the usa administrations in our history...
nothing that requires the backing of bigots and vampires could ever be worth supporting...
the american people are to blame for being so collectively stupid that half of us could deliberately elect a dry-drunk moron to the presidency just because of the way he hooks his thumb in his belt buckle...

Did it come to something when Bloomberg left the Democrats to run for NYC Mayor as a Republican? What did you say then? Did you suggest that there was ever a lower point in the Democrat Party standing? I think not.
Or is Bloomberg just a chameleon, and your attempt at slander is not the "truth" you attempt to proclaim?
BTW...you are a Brit...why should we care about your conclusions posed as questions?

You actually call someone who was a life long democrat, who because the Democrats already had a mayoral candidate switch to Republican for the race and now decide to switch to Independent - Respectable.. The Republican party has countless respectable candidates for future political office including many in the current presidential field but the current US budget director who is resigning to set up a run for Governor or Senator of Ohio in the future. Since you are a dem it is real easy to say none of the Republicans are reputable, so your question has no truth in it.

Even the Republican Presidential candidates are desperately trying to find a way to distance themselves from George Bush and still appear to be party loyalists. It's due to Bush's Administration, all the corruption scandals, and the too little too late backing off of some Republicans from his side. So it starts with Bush's horrible performance as our President and ends with the people to whom party is more important than truth. That's been the Republican mantra since Reagan, stick together no matter what. It has done nothing but hurt them when it comes to continuing to support Bush, especially over the war. They've really cut their own throats and they're going to have to do some fancy footwork to win in '08 because of it. Democrats are much more satisfied with their choices than the Republicans are. The Repubs are praying every day that Fred Thompson actually gets off his lazy duff and starts a real campaign - that's how unhappy they are with their choices.

I thought the same thing when he chose the Republican Party over the Democrats in order to run for Mayor in the first place. So I would say his order of preference is 1st an Independent 2nd a Republican and bringing up the rear in last place he would chose to be a Democrat....good for him.

Bloomburg wasn't a true republican and had many democratic beliefs. He just joined because it was good for his political career when he joined, now, because of the way bush handled his presidency, it is not in his best intrest to be a republican.

Because the Republican Party represents the 1% who own this country.......and a crowd of politicized hatemongering religious sheep.
Read their words. Follow their actions
Why would any sensible human being with a functioning brain and a normal conscious want to be associated with that

Bush has brought back memories of Herbert Hoover saying the government must let things run their natural course, while American children died of starvation by the thousands.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it? He started out as a Dem, has never been known to be a conservative, and is now an Independent. As a conservative, I don't feel that the Republicans have lost a thing and he's certainly not what this party needs.

Before you go ranting about Republicans, let's remember that Democrats can't even produce a viable candidate. The majority of their pary doesn't like any of their candidates. I think it's time for an independant to step up and change things. The members of both parties are pretty disenfranchised right now.
