Hi. Anyone who knows me will say that i'm money motivated. I'm 24 and have a qualified full time job, but on the side I like to use my savings to invest in things. I like to earn from that and I hope to expand, and therefore make more money. I love making money and love money itself. I'm very ombious. I want to be a very successful buisness woman. When ever people first get to know me and realise this, the word that comes out all of their mouths is "Gold digger". They're only joking of course, but it gets to me that people think if your a woman and motivated by money, you're a gold digger, or you will sink to a low level to get it. I'm not a gold digger at all. I know i'd never go with a man for his money. People often ask me too if I'd ever consider lap dancing/stripping, as there's lot of money in that industry. That gets me angry. Just because I love money, does that mean I have no morals?? So I suppose what I wanted to ask was, if a woman is very motivated by money, would you just instantly assume she’s a gold digger, or would do absolutely anything to get it? Please be honest. Thanks.

Gold-diggers are ususlly women who go after rich men for their money,,,if you work hard for your own money you are way way opposite of a gold-digger. I can't think of the term for women who work at decent jobs cause they like the high pay,,,it's a good term,,,there's nothing wrong with what you do. I think very admorable of you,,you are a good role-model for young girls!!!

People are gold diggers if they only want a relationship with another person because of the other person's money. You are not a gold digger if you work hard to provide for yourself. A gold digger is someone like Anna Nicole Smith, a supermodel who married an old billionaire for his wealth. Its not like only women can be gold diggers, one of my good friends is engaged to this chick whos dad has 100 million bucks. I doubt he would be with her if her family was not loaded.

Is "money motivated" the new euphemism for "greedy"?

You are right, however, that that doesn't make you a gold digger any more so than any man who is "money motivated".

No, it is only when it becomes obvious that a woman is going with a rich man for his money.
