He hid my car keys, I couldn't go home for an hour. Then they appear on my desk again! I know it was him, he keeps denying it.. Should I get him back? Any good Ideas?

Several suggestions:
1. rig a net above his door with tennis balls in it, that way when he opens the door they will fall on his head.
2. change the settings on his computer. Make the mouse click speed super slow, etc.
3. put his coffee cup in the freezer at 5 p.m and let it freeze overnight
4. change the pens out. Put the red ink in the blue pen container.
5. If his phone comes apart, take out the speaker portion if not then tape the mouthpiece.
6. Put silicon on his telephone on the inside of the receiver where he holds it.
7. collect hole punches and get the paper pieces and completely fill up his drawers.
8. put paper mustaches on his pictures or turn the pictures the wrong way.
9. Put a for sale sign on his vehicle and put his work number on it. Forewarn some co-workers so they can calll and ask about it.
10. Put the heavy duty clear packing tape around a most used object such as a stapler, coffee cup etc.
11. Fill up the coffee cup with hole punched confetti and put a piece of cardboard over the top. Turn the cofee cup upside down and then place on the desk. Gently remove the cardboard and leave it. The co-worker will pick up the cup and confetti will go everywhere.
LOL, the list is endless.

If you have a good relationship with his boss ask him to send a e-mail or memo that he received your friends letter of resignation and that he (his boss) will be sorry to see him go and by the way the timing couldn't be better as he (his boss) was told he would need to down size the department anyway.
OR
Every time he leaves his desk unplug his computer, or take all writing instruments and put them in the lunch room / supply room

Fill his desk drawer with those styrofoam peanuts used for packing. Wad up some tape and stick it to the earpiece on his phone. Tape the button down on his phone so that when he picks it up, he gets nothing. Sounds like an office romance in the makings.

He's just playing with you, although some people can take a joke a little too far. I suggest thinking ahead and preparing yourself; if he takes your keys, then have a spare set ready to go. You need to think ahead and not allow his jokes to fool you, if he sees you are ahead of him on his pranks he will probably stop. I have a co-worker that tries to prank me, but, I'm always three steps ahead of him, so he never succeeds.

In less you have proof there is not much you can do. If you try to get back at him you will just have a petty war that could get you both fired. Better just to keep your keys with you. Or do you have a desk that has a locked drawer? You can keep your purse and keys in there.

Block his car in with your car, put tape on the mouth piece of his phone(people wont be able to hear him), change the m & n on his keyboard(or any other keys), load up all of his desk drawers with packing peanuts, put a for sale sign on his car with his number, shall I go on?

Don't get him back yet. Get something that will not allow him to hide your keys. Like a chain attached to your belt or one of the many possible can't lost solutioins. Like a key finder. If he still manages to mess with you, then I think you should declare war.

Here are some pranks we have done at work (in an office)
-Take his cell phone and put it in the Ceiling and start calling it
-Print out the sticker labels you make for letters, and put property of HIS NAME and office number on every item in the fridge
-Cover everything in his office with foil
-Saran wrap his car under and over the top over and over
-I am sure we have more but I can't remember.

put casca sagradia in his drink something sweet like soda he'll get explosive $hits. place a scorpion in his desk. place capzasin ointment on the ear peice of his phone. "Borrow" his license plate from his car. Glue everything on his desk together. If he has tissues on his desk put itching or sneezing powder in the box. Use your immagination.

Get him back totally.
Piss on his desk chair if its cloth/fabric.
Wrap every single item on his desk in aluminum foil.
Turn everything on his bulletin board backwards
