Yesterday i tested around 7pm. And at first it was negative. I dropped it on the bed and went to get something to drink. When i came back, about 2 minutes later i looked and it was a fain horizontal line. and it stayed faint. So i figured it was a positive, now im scared its a evap line... I was gonna test today, because my period was pose to come today (im glad it hasnt arrived yet). But im gonna give it another day or two. Im just scared. But later that night the lines on the positive sign faded. Are they suppose to stay? And do evap lines fade?
By the way i am ttc....
thanks for all the help, and lots of baby dust!!

Congrats! Sounds to me like you're pregnant, but by all means do another test to be certain. I'd say if you got a positive today, then no need to wait several days, go ahead and test tomorrow.
Two minutes - not an evap line. It takes a couple minutes for the line to turn up if you're really early or your hormone levels are still low, but at two minutes a positive is a positive.
The kit instructions usually give you a time frame, but lines disappearing/appearing hours later means nothing.

Sounds like evap. Here is info from www.peeonastick.com, see the not at the bottom. Best of luck.
The line disappeared after the time limit! Is it still positive? Please see Current Issues & Alerts for information on this ongoing problem with Answer Early and First Response Early Result tests.
A positive result will generally stay positive for 48 hours. Some very faint lines may fade and become difficult to see, however. Note: sometimes a line will appear briefly as the dye in the test passes over the area where a positive result would show. This is not a positive result.
My suggestion: as soon as urine is applied to your test, set a stopwatch for 9 minutes, 45 seconds. Place the test on a flat, dry surface and walk away. When the alarm goes off, read the test from the same distance you would read a book-- allow 15 seconds to examine the test. If there is a pink line (or blue, obviously, if your test uses blue dye), you are pregnant. If there is no line at the 10-minute mark, you are not pregnant or you are testing too early and there is not enough hCG to be detected in your pee.
*Note: women who have experienced the current "disappearing positive" phenomenon often had a positive result at the 10-minute mark, only to have the line disappear minutes or hours after that. The vast majority of these women have not been pregnant.
If you really get what looks like a true positive, and it disappears, I suggest calling the manufacturer and asking for their input. They may compensate you for the test as well.

Well last summer I had taken 4 pregnancy tests and they all had that faint line that you are talking about. Turned out that I was never pregnant to begin with. Now why they all had that faint line I am not sure but I wasn't pregnant. Now that doesn't mean that you aren't pregnant but I am just saying what My experience was with faint lines. I know that I got pregnant about 2 months ago and when I took my test there was no mistaking the line. It was as bright pink as I think those lines can get. So I am not sure. My best advice to you would be to just wait a couple more days and take another one, I found I was pregnant when I was 4 days late with my peroid!

Well it depends on how long b4 u tested. u have to give it a few mins to show up and if it was later in the day u might not have as much of the hormone present. test again first thing in the morning the first wee of the day. it should show up positive if u r. u can get a positive result from day of period being due. dont worry. there is a good chance that the test u did yesterday was right. i wish u luck.

you should always test first thing in the morning when if there are any pregnancy hormones have built up while you sleep over night. Test again in the morning maybe a few days from now.

The best thing to do is retest. I like the digital tests, there's no guessing. Good Luck!

I say you most likely are. I would retest tomorrow with your morning urine with a digital test. You'll get the most accurate reading that way.
