Aside from being a great defensive center fielder, he is having his best offensive season for his career. He is batting .316, with 10 homers, 39 RBIs, 45 runs scored, and has 4 SBs. He also has 26 walks, and an OBP of .394, and a SLG of .490. This has come from all over the lineup as Philadelphia has batted him first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh, so it does not seem to phase him as to where he is batting in the lineup. I know outfielders are always big producers and the same guys always seem to get top consideration for the All-Star game, but does Rowand deserve a chance to get in?

being a phillies fan myself i know by just watching all the games that he has had a great season so far. he had a real hot start in the beginning of the season hitting like .360. eventually that had to drop but its not like he became liek burrel who went from the 300's to low 200's, rowand is still playing well. I think rowand may be one of those players who gets put on the team by the manager....b/c the fans won't vote him in. It's kind of ridiculous to see guys like Andruw jones in the top 5 and Aaron rowand not even on the page. we'll see what happens come the All-Star game, but yes he definatly deserves some serious consideration.

Aaron Rowand deseves to be in the all-star game. He give 110% every time out. How many players would run head first into the center field wall to catch a fly? His energy while on the White Sox not only brought them a Championship but also made him a fan favorite. Also, he has the best offensive numbers of his career this year. He should no doubt be an all-star for all he brings to the game of baseball.

Rowand has been underrated his entire career, mainly because he has problems putting two good years together in a row. However, I have always liked him, even though his butt appears to be too close to the ground, and believe his 316-10-39 should have been given more consideration by the fans when compared to Beltran 268-9-39. All things in life are not fair.

Well he does come from one of the most productive lineups in the league. So sure. The only two OFers before him would be Holliday and Carlos Lee. After those two you can pick a lot of guys, Rowand included. I would put him in there pitting his numbers against guys like Bay, Griffey, Pierre, Hawpe, Beltran, etc. His numbers overall are a lot better than many of the other OFers.

The numbers aren't bad, I'm not gonna lie, but there is just too much competition-in both the AL and NL outfield for him to stand a chance. I like the guy though, I likem
