Wow!

The police are right. Legally, all you can do is file a report. When you appear in court in front of the judge, make sure your lawyer mentions your stolen goods. You should be able to get a court order for their return.

Shouldn't you guys qualify for an annulment? You entered the marriage contract deceptively and it lasted less than a year.

I can't say I blame the guy though. I am sure he's not hoarding your clothes somewhere. I'm sure they're a pile of ash somewhere.

At this point, you make a very careful, honest list of all that has been taken from the house, including furniture, etc. If you have pics showing background of furniture, stereo, tv, etc., then make copies...present all lists and photos with countersuit of divorce. The court will take a look at your "proof," make value considerations, and decide who should get what. Due to the short nature of the marriage, the cause of the dissolution, etc., the court will make the finals on this. AND, you have bigger worries than divorce, a few clothes, and some furniture that really isn't worth the cost of an lawyer....it is CHILD SUPPORT! You must...must go back on the EX boyfriend and sue for child support, period. Your child's life is what you are really playing with here, and he/she deserves a secure future..You 'husband" is NOT going to be liable for child support, for he has denied fathering, is divorcing you because of it, and no court will award child support from him. Get busy, lady, you have a lot to do.

Yeah, if he is being an ***, that will never change. Just count your losses and move on. You are young enough to rebuild everything and replace everything he took. Sorry that this happened...who would have thought that you would have ended up pregnant...he didn't know that you had a fling when you guys were split up?

Cut your loses and get out and never go back it sounds like you both made very stupid decisions and now have to live with those decisions. I hope when you go into your next relationship you spend more time thinking about it and the consequences of your action and less time thinking with the bottom part of your body. It's good to see women act as badly as men.

You've filed the report, keep all the nasty messages, but don't leave any of your own. To use in court to get a better settlement in the divorce.

Forget the stuff! Its just STUFF!! Use it symbolically...fresh, new stuff, new life for you and your baby, new chances, adventures, and new loves. Do the best you can to find compassion for the man you vowed to "love, honor, and respect", and be patient as this anger phase will pass, and the two of you may find peace and you will love again.

I would ignore him and get some new stuff. If police are involved, it could get ugly real quick. Just move on and forget about your stolen stuff....especially if you can't prove it. I doubt you'll ever get it back. He probably trashed it, burned it, etc just to get even.
