Personally, I think it should. It would be good for the economy and would also solve the crime and drugs problem.

Actuallly, slavery was a pretty expensive institution to maintain. The fact is that human beings have no economic value for the first several years of their lives, but at bare minimum cost money to feed. Couple that fact with high infant mortality rates and you have some problems that would make me not want to own a slave, even if it were legal and it didn't conflict with my personal philosophy.

No, it's much cheaper to pay them minimum wage and be responsible for their own food, shelter, and healthcare, especially when you can confiscate some of their earnings under the pretense of "taking care of them".

It might solve the crime and drug problem, but I'm afraid I can't see how. I can imagine that most of the "slaves" would be put to work in the drug industry, so simply adding slaves to things won't change that any.

Step into a local fast-food, retail store, or to an American plant in a third World country and you'll see them. The only difference is that now they can go home thinking they are free.
