I bought one at albertons and dont want to get hurt putting it in the wrong way.

Flip open the side of the gun.. it usually slides or swings upward.
Place the roll of caps inside, leaving a few loose, and thread them through the top.
The bumpy part of the cap (the red part) should be toward the rear of the gun, so the hammer strikes the red part.
Close the side, and fire away.

Not always true. I load the roll so that it is pulled from the front. I have a pet peeve about it being the other way. If someone loads it that way I feel compelled to fix it.
