Some of the signs that you might be miscarrying often depend on how long you have been pregnant. Here are some guidelines you can follow:
Miscarriage prior to 6 weeks of pregnancy - The signs with a very early miscarriage are often bleeding that looks like a heavy period.
If you are having a spontaneous miscarriage, you will probably have vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, and cramping. Bleeding may be only slight spotting, or it can be quite severe. Blood clots are usually passed during a miscarriage. Pain and cramping occur in the lower abdomen. They may occur on only one side, both sides, or in the middle.
You should probably make an appointment with your doctor just in case, so that you can be examined. They can tell what is going on. Good luck!

According to medical records that I've read over the years, internet sites and doctors that I've spoken to. 9 times out of 10 if a pregnancy test comes back negative, it's accurate. Your body changes all time time while growing up. Your periods can be brownish, the can be light, they can be heavy and they can clot from time to time. It may just be your body changing. If your pregnancy home test came back negative, it was either too early to see if you were pregnant or you weren't pregnant at all. As long as you're not bleeding now like you were before, I wouldn't honestly worry about it. If it happens again, I would call your doctor and make an appointment because it might be something worse in the end. Good luck with everything.

Well, two characteristics of a spontaneous abortion (early pregnancy miscarriage) are 1) a late period and 2) a period that is heavier than usual. So, it's possible. However, you should have tested positive with your HPTs. If you had gone in for a blood test during the 5 days you were late you would have found out for sure because blood picks up on the hCG level starting from 1 (unlike HPTs that only pick up from 25-50 or higher).
It's also possible that a hormone imbalance caused the late period and the heavier bleeding.
Unfortunately, you'll never know for sure. Sorry.

You may never know if you misscarried or not. You could go to a doctor and have a hormone test but why waist the money. You were probably in the very early stages of pregnacy and your body just let the baby go, so you are having just a really bad period. If you start having really bad lower back pain like you want to push something out then see a doctor because you might need a DNC, this is where the doctor scrapes your uterus to clean it out. It is a very normal procedure especially after bad miscarriages. But your situation may not call for this. You might be fine and can try to get pregnant next month.

it could of being early pregnancy but its hard to say since it was really early. u could just have been late leading it to b a bit heavier. u shouldnt really dwell on it. if u r trying to concieve then just start afresh. nearly every woman will have a mc at some time in there life and lots dont even realise because it would b so early like the amount of time u r saying. i had one 5 years ago at 7 weeks and now am 35 weeks pregnant with 1st baby. although if the test was neg id say u probably were not pregnant.

Implantation could have taken place but if pregnancy test come back neg then it wasn't far enough to be considered a pregnancy.

its posible you had an early miscarrage, if the embryo did not implant noramlly then you may never get a positive on a hpt. But you will never know for sure, so don't worry too much.
