It's human nature to want to be liked by others and accepted into a group.

That is why bullying is in the news so much these days - it's peer pressure.

you know that is a really good question. i would say that it is basically human nature. just like the need in everyone to be loved and accepted by family, friends and loved ones. in my opinion people want to be accepted because they want to belong to a clique of friends, a group, an association and so on. it is part of our human pyche or DNA and really cannot be analyzed.

Fear of being alone.

It sure feels better to be in a group of people that accept you than it is to be with those who don't.
It's just a plain old better feeling to be accepted than to be rejected!

Because some people give away responsibility for their lives to others. When you embrace that responsibility, you no longer care if others accept you or not.

some people think they can fit in, to a circle, its nice when you don't have a good portrait of yourself, and need the attention. but as you get older you just dont care anymore.

It's important to me to be a God-pleaser, not a people-pleaser.

I don't intentionally set out to offend / hurt anyone, but I'm not going to compromise my principles just to please somebody else either.
