You know if we all sat around and blamed religion for everything, we would be at a loss. Let me tell you why...most religious books like the Koran and the Christian Bible teach peace and love.

However, if one person were to twist either books around to their political or ethical advantage they could start a war. In other words, I don't think war has anything to do with religion MOST of the time. I think it has to do with one or two sick and crazy characters that feed on the weakness of a populous seeking dramatic change in their lives from civil or national direst. It always comes down to the, "Have and the Have NOTs".

I could tell you that God has sent you to concur a land for your people. If you concur this land, you get eternal life in paradise or whatever. You except my interpretations of a few verses in "our" bible and you execute a plan, based on being brain washed.

If you want to "blame" religion for terrorism or war, by all means feel free. You wouldn't be the first. However, I feel it simple economics and greed, based upon the powerful desire of the few using the desperate desires of the masses at its sick twisted disposal.

Instead, I prefer to view religion as a moral compass for humanity. If we did not have something greater than ourselves, we would have already justified blowing up this planet.

Good Luck and Take Care

It plays a big part. Our meddling in other societies has caused the greatest harm. More people have died over religion than any other cause for sure. Today with a global economy old societies are defiant about imperialistic ways of modern business. War has done little to change their thinking.

Religion itself is not to blame.

Religion can be the greatest source of good - Mother Theresa, Gandhi and Martin Luther King all did what they did because of their religion.

Religious extremism and intollerance on the other hand is very much to blame. It's when people feel forced into more radical and narrow interpretations of a faith that you get problems.

Resources, greed, and power are the main reasons for war.

Religion is only a catalyst used by them to accomplish their goals.

Hrm...Good question. I am sure that if you go back to all of the conflicts that mankind has had since we started out on this rock I would have to say, in one form or another, Yes. Cheers

Extremists within religions are to blame.

Though the existence of religion doesn't help much.

No, but the weak-minded idiots lost within religion are definitely to blame.

I agree; utilising faith as an excuse would not advise this is faith's fault. human beings use excuses for the unacceptable issues they do each and all of the time, if it wasn't faith they are going to locate some thing else and that they do. The bloodbath of the nobles in the French Revolution grew to become into in the call of freedom (so, is freedom in charge?) The Bolshevik revolution grew to become into in the call of social justice (does that advise that social justice is incorrect?) ecu and extraordinarily British imperialism and colonialism of persons's lands (which contain the bloodbath of the interior sight human beings and Australians) grew to become into in the call of "the white guy's burden" (does that advise that the "white guy" is inherently undesirable?) faith is an excuse, between and finished lot of alternative excuses: they want an excuse no longer for persons (such with the aid of fact the Indians), yet for their very own human beings to settle for what they might in any different case on no account settle for. I advise, do you rather think of that the British might agree if the proprietors of the British East India corporation have pronounced “inform you what adult adult males, shall we bypass get one million/2 of your sons killed so as that we can scouse borrow each and all of the wealth in India”? of direction no longer, so as that they had to combination it up with a bunch of stupid excuses and word it in a fashion that would sound no longer so stupid. yet in the tip, it’s purely searching for greater territory, greater wealth, regardless of that's that places greater earnings the wallet of the persons who want to start all of it.
