Decide what subject you will tutor and where it will be done as well as your rate.
Then advertise to parents, teachers and students. Make sure you think carefully about your rate are you going to the student's home or having them in yours? Are you babysitting more than tutoring? Set your rate high enough that you will be considered more than a babysitter and low enough you can get students. Maybe offer a first session free so they can try your service before buying.
Are you providing learning supplies or expecting them to bring their own? Try not to under value your service most parents will pay pretty well so their child gets a good education and if you can raise them a grade level over the summer it will be worth the cost no matter what you charge.

Glad to see a young person with such determination, even at your age.If you know a lot about computers, then you probally could set up your own web sites for whatever types of questions on games or future technology the people may ask you about. If you have those types of skills, and have someone that can help you set it up(the web sites you wish to start)financially, then I really don't know of any problems you could or would have.Unless it is something that you have to report to the I.R.S. on a yearly tax income type of forms. If that's the case, then yeah, they would probally tell you to wait until you're 16 or older to start that type of business. But if you do manage to get your business up and running sometime soon, count on me to be a customer standing in the line.At least I'll be learning somethings as well, and maybe learn from some of the game pros, when and while I'm learning.Good luck, and hope you get the business going soon. Can't wait to see what type of web sites you come out with.I'm sure they'll kick cyber butt.

I'm impressed that you want to start tutoring, but at your age, I doubt very much whether anyone would take you seriously. You're very smart you say, but smart at what? What subject do you want to tutor others in? To be a tutor you have to have qualifications, so the only tutoring I can see you would be able to get, is really just helping your schoolfriends with their homework.

Please don't. There are enough uncertified tutors out there! It's my personal opinion that if you haven't graduated from high school yet, you shouldn't tutor anyone else. If you want to start a tutoring _business_, meaning you hire a bunch of people to tutor under your name, there is no way you can pull it off. I have an overall optimistic attitude, but I'm realistic too. Something like this is very much out of a 12 year old's reach. Try looking for a job elsewhere, maybe earn money by mowing people's lawns or doing housework for the elderly.
