Does that make sense? What does someone who lives in another state care what someone else does in their state? It's not like you have a voice (vote) so what is the point?

BTW, this tends to be the same people who think that abortion should be left up to the states...

I agree with you on this. In fact, more rights should be turned over to the individual states and taken away from the Federal government. They have their fingers in too many tills.

Well from where I'm at, which is Kansas city, Kansas and Kansas city Missouri is Right next to us (they touch) and when they have certain programs over there, somehow our city is the biggest contributor to funding their programs, For instance they have Arrowhead stadium (K.C. Chiefs football) and when the new season starts the residents over there have first choice in tickets, Yet the biggest ticket holders are from Kansas (we attend more games then the Missourians) So they came up with a new thing where our city pays taxes to help pay for that stadium, even though it's in another state and we don't have first grabs at the new season tickets.. So the taxes and revenue they are making from all of us Kansans go toward their programs and we get angry because they always seem to come up short on their programs... They can build statues and put fountains galore in the their city, but to keep a public school open they never have enough funding... Which causes families to migrate to our side causing our poverty levels and people dipping into our programs grow... All because that city can't take care of their own people... It gets sickening.

I do not reallly give a damn what happens outside of my state if it does not affect me. Nor do I think that abortion needs to be handled on a state by state basis. However, if Roe V Wade were overturned, then it would be left up to the individual state to either allow or disallow abortion. So its not that it should be done, but someday it might have to be done state by state.

We should care about America as a whole as well as state rights...if your state brings back slavery and you are made into a slave...will you want us to care then?

Someone still has to oversee the states or you will end up with little kingdoms controlled by corrupt leader's...at least this way someone is watching out for you...

Not to mention one state may have a direct bearing on another state...we are not in this alone and should not try to pretend we are.

It's most certain that if (when, actually) Roe v. Wade is overturned and the states are in control of the issue, the anti-choice, states' rights crowd won't be satisfied until each and every state bans abortion in lock-step... Federal style!

That's the point. Often Federal funds are in play and as I don't get a voice or any benefit then why should my tax dollars be used in this manner?

It makes perfect sense to someone who is not on the hate America first kick.

Freedom of speech. Heard of this? This gives every American the right to an opinion. I don't live in CA but as an American I can criticize Arnold.
