LOL funny you should ask that question!
Yes!
When we were little, my mom kept a penny jar (in a big water bottle)...she never let us eat sweets, but when she was at work, the ice cream truck would come and we would have already counted the pennies earlier in the day waiting for it to come. There were 3-4 of us (depending on the year) and each ice cream was 50 cents, so wed count out 200 penies and take them to the truck

I was too embarassed to take them out, so I would send my little overweight brother out there, and laugh as he ran his little chubby self out there to stop the truck and buy the ice cream.

One day he came back and said the ice cream man said "no more pennies, fat boy"

So that ended that....

I did at the Dollar Tree and I got some candy which was like $5.35 so I counted 535 pennies. The look on her face was PRICELESS.

Hahaha, oh the good ole days..

Back in high school after I first got my license and when gas was more expensive than I could afford, my friends and I would gather as many pennies and nickles and dimes as possible to fill up one of our tanks so that we could drive around all night. Good times :)

Yes. My bus fare on public transportation. Everyone in line behind me sighed and rolled their eyes. The bus driver told me that was enough and waved me on. Even He didn't want to be bothered with my pennies!

LOL- I went to Wendy's once with over $5 in pennies and they told me they were refusing to take them. I parked my car in front of their drive-thru and refused to leave. They called the police and after the police told them that pennies are legal tender and that if they had no signs saying, "we don't accept pennies", that Wendy's would have to take them......After blocking the drive-thru for 30 minutes, I told them I don't want your food anymore. I went to McDonald's and wow, they took them.

Only if they were rolled. But I did pay for more than $100 of stuff with $1 bills once. I was waitressing at the time...
