don't listen to rap, emo and other top 40 music? I hate that stuff! I'll go crazy if I have to read about My Chemical Romance again. I get made fun of by the other girls at school for liking music from the 80's and some 70's and 60's. That's the only kind of music I listen to. Are their any like minded people out there?

I know you start this question by "teen girls" but I really admire your music taste. And, I TOTALLY agree with you that today's music stinks. AND I agree with your reason that it is all the same whiny bs. I actually get made fun of a little just because ALL of my fraternity brothers or a lot like todays music. I always make a request for like some Roxette or Bangles. No one truly respects the 80s anymore. Laugh if you want, but I am BIG fan of 80s girl groups or girl singers like the Bangles or Pat Benatar.

I Love the 80's and 70. Thats when music was actually real and orginal. now all rap sounds like booty, makin money, sex thongs, grills, over and over again. the same lyrics. they even re made she's like the wind. Man thats sooo ugly. But anywho. i listen to todays musik but i love the 80'z and 70s cuz my parents listen to all their music and get me hooked. Sooo Eff those gurls who make fun of you. They dont know what they are missing

Yeah!! i love all that same music. AC/DC, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Queen, Night Ranger, etc. i will personally help you beat up those people who made fun of you for liking this music. the stuff that people listen to now is crap. right now i am listening to Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas. This is the only type of music I will listen to as well.

i agree i can't stand rap or emo...it's not music it's noise that really sells. i love nothing but real music i could go on for days about the music i like...i do too like pink floyd

Yea ,My friends complain that what I listen to is oldies.I tell them that it's good and they should listen to some ,but they don't.I listen to their crap all the time. I shouldn't have to put up with that.Today's rap sucks but earlier rap and underground stuff is really good like Tupac .Do you like the Beatles ? They rule.A hard day's night was playing on the radio .I put it up and my friend was like" who is that the beach boys" . I swear I was going to smack her. My other friend loves the beatles ,she and I think that who ever doesn't like the beatles is crazy and that everybody should like at least one beatles song

I hear teens like you admiring the tunes of yesteryear and I truly consider myself blessed growing up listening to music that peaked during those years (It truly was a BLAST!). I consider you a person that can rise above it all and listen to what you enjoy. Let us know if you need help discovering any obscure gems. (There's plenty!).

yea. i get called a hippee because i like old music- even 80's rock and a lot of mellow acoustic stuff no one has heard of. i like just about everything though. not so much rap and emo- sometimes even country. if its good, i like it. i dont like the top songs though, so yea its annoying to listen to the radio. they dont play my songs.
