You'll need a router. If you want to go wireless you can get a wireless equiped laptop or get a wireless card for a laptop. You could also connect your laptop with an ethernet cable. Either way you'll need a router to share the internet connection between the two computers.

You'll need to get a wireless card for your laptop and a wireless router, then you'll be able to use your existing connection with the laptop as well. Connect your current connection to the router, then configure your laptop to use your local wireless connection running through that router. Then you won't need two separate connections. If you're in a dorm, it might already be wired for wireless connection, and you won't need the router.

Just about all of the new laptops already have a wireless card built into the laptop. A low end laptop probably won't have one and you'll have to but one. You will need a router to share conections. I'd suggest a wireless G. Linksys or D Link.

I assume the other computer is a desktop pc? Put the wireless adapter card in the laptop, and hook the desktop direct to the internet connection. Configure your laptop as a second user.

Dell Ispiron e1505 is a really good laptop. I have it with Vista and it works really well. The only thing about getting a laptop is if you think you ever want to play some new games on it, upgrade the graphics card when you buy the laptop because it's almost impossible to do after you get it.
