I lived through this last bought with drugs and alcohol, never been through anything like it since 1968, and through all those years my family still stood by me.
This taught me the true meaning of love.

I had a fight with a friend and I was mean and malicious and cruel. It was the first time that ever happened and I was so ashamed and embarrassed. But I learned a valuable lesson. I ain't as great as I think I am. I'm only human, I'm just like everybody else. That was a very humbling lesson. I lost the friendship but I learned a lot.

lots of things. i guess what comes to mind would be when i had this teacher, and i was having trouble in the class, so i'd go to his office for help. he'd hit on me, saying i looked cute in jeans and such. in a way, i knew it was wrong but i liked the attention and so i figured he would pass me. i did not pass, and i learned a lot from that. grades aren't based on relationships, they are earned, and i can't depend on others for self esteem boosts anyway.

...as a child, I hurt my hand in the screen door...only a scratch, really...but I wanted to "play it up" so I got bandages and wrapped my whole hand for sympathy from my play mates (get the idea)....my Mom said to do this was lying and that I was tempting fate to actually give me a "real" injury...I laughed and went out to play...it wasn't 5 minutes when I stepped on a large rusty nail sticking up from a board on the ground at my friends house....had to go to the ER ....my Mom said, I told you so
