Before 9/11 it was still terrorism. We were attacked repeatedly... the Khol, the Embassies, The WTC part 1..... just because they were military installations or failed attempts doesn't mean that the threat wasn't there.

The answer you're looking for though.... hmmm .. Cuba, Panama, Grenada, Iran, Russia, North Korea, Bosnia, Haiti, Malaysia, Palestine, Somolia.... the US/China issues.... the world has had many MANY threats.... I think pre-9/11, the US was most concerned with China.... but that's just because of that stuff with our spy plane crashing in their airspace..... to tell the truth the WORLD is and always will be a Sh!tstorm..... no matter the timeframe or your political affiliation.

It was Iran and Iraq... the U.S. had spent ten years arming Iraq. When Saddam would not allow the U. S. oil companies to run its oil fields, the U.S. created or provoked an incident (9-11) to make Americans mad enough to fight.

The supposed "bad guy", Bin Laden is nowhere to be found,
Saddam is dead, and Habiburton, the oil copmanies, and the military industrial complex are getting richer by the day.

The Cuban Missile Crisis? It was a front in the Cold War between the USA and the now-defunct USSR.

It was the Cold War. Truth is that it may STILL be the Cold War. Russia and China are still potential threats to us, and if they are, they are MUCH more powerful than terrorists. Uh-oh.
