So every now and then I get this weird bump along my panty line right in that crease between my leg and pelvic bone (I can feel my pelvic bone). Its usually reddish and is sore to the touch for a day and then a head forms on it. I can tell that its full of pus, cause I can see it. Shortly after the head forms, its bursts and all the pus comes out. I know this is really gross but its startin to bug me a bit. It doesn't happen alot but every now and then it happens, the same exact way every single time. Is it from shaving or maybe my underwear? I'm confused...anybody have the same problem?

its never very big....the actual area with pus is usually the size of this O. The sore area that leads up to the pus has been as big as a nickel but after the head forms it stops hurting

Sound like it could be from the elastic in your underwear. Switch to all cotton underwear without elastic around the legs. We see this often in the nursing home when we use protective liners on our incontinent people.

I have had this same thing. My gets about the size of a golf ball before it is ready and extremely painful. My doctor told me it is a staph infection under the skin. When he cut it the first time, there were a lot of smaller "pus bags" down very deep in the skin. This can be very dangerous because the infection can move into your joints or your blood system. You need to have your doctor check it next time and get it cleaned out all the way. He will probably also put you on some anti-fungal medication to clear the deeper infection.

My doctor told me to be sure to keep the area very dry. I get mine in the summer if I don't use a deodorant (like Vagisil Deodorant Spray). If I do that, I haven't gotten one for approximately 2 years now.

Good luck, but please see a doctor next time.

ok dont worry too much. i get something similar.

for me its a infected hair folical. because it got infected once before it means its more prone to infection again. sometimes its an ingrown hair but always in the same place.

is it very painful? when the head forms you should try sqeezing the pus out (if you can bare it) and then putting some pimple cream or salt water on it to try and get rid of the infection. also before the head forms if there is a lump and you can feel its quite hard under the skin try massageing it (i know weird! but thats what the doc told me and it does help).

it could also be a boil. they recur in the same place aswell. if you can bare to squeeze it.

if you are worried about it you could go get it checked out at the doctor. but be carefull... the first time i got it i went to the doctor and they told me i had herpes!!! i freaked out and was so upset but it turned out i didnt at all!

any type of hair removal can cause ingrown hairs and similar things. its a pain but better than the alternative.

good luck!

It is an ingrown hair, either from shaving or from wearing panties that are too tight or made of an irritating material. It's not harmful as long as it's bursting and draining eventually. If you want to prevent them, make sure you gently exfoliate your bikini line with a bath puff before shaving. Then, make sure you always have a sharp razor- throw the cartridge away and replace it every 2-3 weeks. Also, make sure you don't go against the direction of the natural hair growth pattern. Go with the grain!!!

It's from shaving. It's an ingrown hair, the reason that it keeps happening is because the hair always remains in grown. I have it sometimes, it can be really painful, I suggest shaving less frequently, it's not the greatest solution but it the hair is a little bit longer it has a better chance of not becoming ingrown.

it sounds like the elastic is irritating the skin so much, it makes a pimple-type thing. If you shave (ouch!) and then the elastic rubs against the pores, it will cause that.
