I have a not-so-fresh smell down there, and I wash everyday. Anything extra I can do? It's hard being that it's so hot outside and I sweat easily.

You might have to amp up your cleaning schedule. Washing there just once a day doesn't cut it, especially in hot weather. Maybe buy some wet wipes in a little travel packet to have on hand when you go out, so you can give yourself a good "how's your father" on the go. If the extra cleansing doesn't help, go to the doctor. You may have a bacterial infection that needs antibiotics. Don't be embarrassed- it's like the hardest organ to keep clean- I mean, just LOOK at the location!!!!

This has happened to me several times and it is NOT normal, no matter what anyone says. It is also easily curable by going to your doctor who can also tell you more about what it is. Anywho, that sounds a lot like a bacterial infection, bacterial vaginosis or whatnot. Is it like a fishy smell? It's not an STD, but an imbalance of bacteria in your vagina. Your vagina is naturally acidic and if that balance gets out of whack, you can get a bacterial infection. At one point in my life I had several of those, and what I think it was the partner's semen that was causing my vagina to become basic, and then to get out of whack. Anywho, go to the doctor, they should do a culture, and then perhaps prescribe you antibiotics. If you do take antibiotics, take yogurt, so you don't get a yeast infection. Sometimes the doctor will give you diflucan in case you get a yeast infection.

Anywho, good luck and it's an easy fix by going to the doctor.

i got this off of Oprah:

So -- on the famous talk show that begins with an O, the topic was women's health. Things quickly turned to a discussion about whether or not douching a good way to stay clean?

Dr. says the vagina is a "self-cleaning oven," and you shouldn't douche to stay clean. "You have your own bacteria in there. They're for you. You're supposed to have them there. When you wipe them out with a vinegar douche, then you're left with repopulating it with whatever happens to be nearby. It may not be what's best for you," he says.

Douching, Dr. Oz says, may even make you more likely to have some problems, such as ectopic pregnancies and infections that can cause infertility. "It's a big problem. That's why I don't think there's any really good reason to douche. Period," Dr. Oz says.

so he says your not supposed to douche, but you should wash with soap and water.
you should talk with a doctor about it, because it could be an infection.

hmmm... depends on what is causing it. It could be a medical problem requiring treatment. If theres discharge then it could be a yeast infection easily treated at home using Rite Aid products. If its a fishy smell then it could be a sexually transmitted disease like chlamydia which can cause infertility if left untreated and requires a prescription. Many hygiene products can actually make it worse. Avoid hosiery. Body sprays may be handy but there really should be no odors. I think you need to see a doctor.

You need to tell your doctor and be checked for an infection. You might have an odour from something you eat. Another thing could be that your natural body scent does not mix with your toiletries or even fabric detergent. You will be able to be a little fresher if you wear a light pad and change it every time you go to the washroom. But you need to be sure there is no infection.

what you eat can be a part of the smell
also infection you might want to go gto the docs to see what they say.
do you apply something to make it smell better?
you shouldnt do that that can also be a reason why it now smells bad we are to not put nothing but soap and water there and let it be a natural smell. if it gets to hot you can carry baby wipes with you so when you go to the bathroom you can use that instead of toilet paper and it gets lesss smelly

see a doctor. Offensive odor could be one of several infections, left untreated can cause serious problems up to and including sterilization. It's not worth the risk.

Inflammatory conditions of the vagina and cervix often cause an increase in discharge. The most predominate symptom is foul odor
