Yes. She is at increased risk of developing the deadly disease TSS {toxic shock syndrome}.
If she has any other symptoms then she needs to see a doctor!!

No, this is NOT harmful. Heck, I'll even own up to doing that once, waaaay back in the day. I did it to see if I could, because I was going to have to be using tampons right off the bat (I was a ballet dancer). TSS is fairly rare in this day and age, and really only results from a too high absorbency tampon being worn over the suggested maximum hours.

Kudos to her for it not hurting coming out...if you're "dry," it can be a little uncomfortable.

If she just stuck it up there for a second, it's not going to hurt her. However, little cotton fibers from the tampon may have gotten pulled off from the tampon due to the friction of putting it in with nothing to absorb, so if she gets an infection in a few days, you'll know why...

Yes it could be harmful. she doesn't have to worry about the tss(toxic shock syndrome) it's very rare. she does have her period and she wears one she is only to tug on the tring if it doesn't want to come easily she doesn't need to take it out. but if it starts to come out easily the tampon is ready to come out.

It's not harmful, whether or not your friend has her period, tampons are designed to go there. It's not a problem at all.
