Ok - please wait.

It is never advisable to tattoo while pregnant. It's not likely that getting a tattoo will hurt the baby, but there will likely be a problem with the quality of the tattoo.

When you're pregnant your body is working overtime and usually is unable to spare the energy needed to heal the tattoo properly and will possibly result in a light tattoo.

As far as the health issues go, whilst I assume your husband willbe good with hygeine a woman's body produces antibodies that are to be passed to the infant. If tattooed while these extra antibodies are in your system the tattoo may heal "harder" with more scar tissue and possibly result in second rate quality tattoo.

If you want the best quality tattoo, wait until you aren't pregnant or breastfeeding.

NO!! Don't even try. Any good tattoo studio won't even do it. Pregnant people are at a very high risk, because it's 2 lives at stake. Also, if you have and kind of reaction or infection, you could poison the baby too. Remember all of your energy is going to make a baby, not heal a tattoo. That's why a good studio will have a waver that you sign saying, your; not pregnant, have any illness and any problems healing or scaring in strange ways. So what ever you do, don't do this! I think you can wait a few months.

I know your husband would be impeccable regarding the hygene, but why take a chance at all? In the big picture, a few months isn't long to wait. A tattoo can be done at any time, but you only get one chance to do all you can to ensure the safety of your developing baby.

Whilw the ink won't cause a problem, I'd wait, just because of the chance of infection. Better safe than sorry.

I would wait till you have the baby. You never know if that is really a "Clean" needle you are poking your skin with and what kind of infections you can get and pass along to your unborn child.

I'm not sure, but I know you have a lot more blood now that you are pregnant. I don't know what the percentage is. I think you would bleed too much. Also I would be afraid of infection. I would wait, aren't the aches and pains of pregnancy enough right now?

The last question you posted was "Am I a bad mother?", If you get a tattoo while your pregnant I think you will have an answer to that question.

Probably depends on how pregnant you are. Check with your doctor just in case, but I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as your hubby's using sterile equipment and you clean it well to prevent infection.

I'm 3 mo. along and sometime this summer my brother and I are getting our dad's tatts done on us. It's a little one on the top of my foot, so I don't think that'll affect anything.

you know there is no known fact that it hurts the baby other than not having clean needles and equipment...but any licensed tattoo artist will not tattoo on a pregnant woman..so you make your decision from that!
