I had my period a few weeks ago, and it was normal. Nothing was unusual for a few days, but then there was a brown discharge. I've heard that it's normal and it's just dried blood, so I didn't think anything of it. But now my period is back and really irregular. It only appears when I go to the bathroom (there's none on my underwear)

I don't feel comfortable going swimming and stuff when I'm on my period, and I'm going on vacation soon.
Will this ever go away?

Aw, yeah, that used to happen to me. I am going to guess you're 17, judging by your screen name (See? I'm FizzyGurrl1980, indicating I was born in 1980, which makes me 27...get it?) Anyway, because you only started all this period stuff maybe 4 or 5 years ago, your periods are probably still just very irregular. And there is a chance you might never be on a regular cycle-many women don't have perfect, 28-day cycles, you know. I once had that brown stuff you were describing for an entire month. How I got rid of the problem was getting on the Pill. Your parents probably won't like the idea of you on birth-control, but if you explain why you want it, they will understand. In addition to making your cycle so scarily regular that you can predict the hour it's going to start (at least I can), you also get other benefits like MUCH less severe cramps, nice clear skin, and bigger boobs, I swear! Go schedule a Dr. appointment.

If it only appears when you go to the bathroom, then it doesn't sound like your period. It's best to get things checked out by your doctor.
Brown discharge is usually normal and nothing to worry about, this is old 'dried' blood that has exited your system.
If what was happening was your period, then it would have exited your vagina like it usually would (trickle every now & again) and not just come at once. The bleeding could be coming from your anus (e.g, piles) or something inside.
Check nothing is blocking your vaginal entrance then contact a doctor. Don't go swimming and call off the vacation if you have to - you really need to be checked out.

I have that same problem-of course I've been on b-control pills for 15 years. But my doc says it's totally normal to have a brown discharge. Mine period is normal for 3 days and then goes away for 2 days. Then it comes back and it's a brown discharge for about 2 days. Your fine. But it probably will always happen during your period.

definite in actuality I did as quickly as, no longer so very some time past. What I enjoyed better than working away in spite of the incontrovertible fact that grew to become into the cat interior the poem, representing, as a metaphor, i assumed besides, and animals are as a lot a factor of my existence as all people is. i don't understand if i'm happy with being thoroughly feral, yet i'm no longer, in a strict experience, completely domesticated the two. super poem.
