Maybe you just got over-nervous and just needed to calm down. Don't let this put you off using them again. Be patient, be calm and try not to worry. Put one in and if you get the same reaction again, go to your doctor for tests for Toxic Shock Syndrome. It's very unlikely that you will have it, but better to be safe than sorry.

Oh, you know what? That totally happened to me the first time I tried a tampon too. I was like 14 or 15, and the machine at school was out of pads so it was either buy a tampon or have a huge stain on my butt all day. So I got the tampon, and I got so nervous and freaked out about putting something up there, that my hands and legs got all wobbly and my heart was racing. Next time you try it, just go really slowly, and if you have a choice, buy the kind called Junior Strength, or Slender, which is a better fit for a girl your age with no, um, experience. You'll be OK.

It sounds almost like a panic attack. I'm willing to be this was more of a mental problem then physical. Were you nervous about using the tampon? I suffer from anxiety and I have a problem with panic attacks - nausea, sweaty palms, chills, dizziness, etc.

I'm sure you're fine! Give it another go and see what happens. Relax, take a deep breath, do whatever you need to clear your head and calm yourself. Leave it in to wait it out, and if it doesn't go away after a few minutes, take it out and consider making an appointment with your doc.

you might have TSS, go to a doctor. I dont think thats what it is, but just to make sure.

I think you just got nervous about it. No need to worry. The symptoms of TSS would start after like hours, not minutes.

Were you bent over for maybe a minute or two? the blood might have all went to your head and when you came up it rushed back down, that can cause dizziness. Hopefully you're okay.
