Life as shown on TV has little to do with real life, here or anywhere else. Even so-called reality shows have little to do with reality - the casting directors deliberately pick people who are extreme, because they are more 'entertaining'; also because people know they're being filmed, they act outrageously or say crazy things in order to get attention. The kind of people who want to have their lives filmed are pretty 'out there' - would you want YOUR personal problems talked about by strangers??? Most normal people wouldn't.

On the other hand, why do you need to understand life in the USA? If there's stuff here you want to see, or people you want to meet, or part of the culture you'd like to understand, then come on over. Otherwise, spend your time and money on something else you'd rather do at home......

why go to america when you can have america come to you instead. just keep ordering those downloads and have america right in your living room. so much of america is being exported out that, if you hang around for a while the republicans will eventually give america to the world, lock, stock and barrell. just wait on it. its gonna happen. george bush and the g.o.p. sellout's are trying their best to give america away!! so when america comes to you , grab as much as you can and forward all your thank you cards to the republican party. they'll sell out anything for a buck, including their mother's!!!

bobthebrowser - television isn't real, it's only for entertainment, produced to make money. If you've watched all those shows then you pretty much know all there is to know about America...we're not real, only entertainment, all about the money.
