Yes and no- you only have to apply it for three days instead of the original 7-day medication, but then you still have to avoid all sexual activity for 7 days, so it's still like a week-long thing. Even that cool Diflucan pill that gets rid of the yeasties within one day still makes you go without sex for a week. LAME! And if you don't wait long enough, it comes back worse than ever. Bad times! However, the itching/burning, etc. will definitely start to go away after your first treatment.

Your selection may depend on how long you want to use a treatment, whether you prefer a cream or suppository, and how convenient the product is to use.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

There is also a one-day kind. Or the doctor can prescribe a magic pill that clears you up with one dose. The 7 day stuff is useful if the infection is a lingering variety that needs longer exposure to the meds. Some yeast takes the form of spores and is harder to get rid of. Yes, Diflucan...the Magic Pill.
