His books are definitely not geared toward women, it just probably seems that way because memoirs are typically not a "manly" thing to read.
But screw that, because his books are great. I think anyone in the world can relate to any story or essay in any of his books. They're funny, imaginative, brutally honest and depict the human experience.
So what's the harm in reading an essay or two? I recommend his book "Naked".

Having a lot of description works in some novels, no longer lots in others. some novels shine because of the fact they're skinny, rapid reads that don't wast time on paragraph after paragraph of pointless description. That being suggested, there is an artwork in having the flexibility to establish a scene or a character description with basically a sentence or 2. on occasion a author basically desires to plant the seed, and the reader's techniques will fill contained in something. as an occasion: "Darla pulled her frumpy brown sweater down and altered her thick librarian glasses." that is basically a unmarried line, yet already the reader can tell that Darla probable does not difficulty with makeup and hair irons lots, might extremely examine a e book than bypass out out clubbing, could be shy, and so on.

David Sedaris is an amazing author. His work is witty and sharp. Maybe some men have a problem reading his works since he is gay? I have no idea why this would be an issue, but it comes to me as the only reason men wouldn't read his works. I would just read one of his books, and form your own opinion :)

All of his books are hilarious. And women love to laugh! He has a 20 CD set out of his written work with him (and some by sister Amy) as the narrator. Great stuff! Funnier when you hear it then when you read it. Check it out. My library had it.
