Yes I have felt that way and to me it is a patronizing thing to do and they already have the answer they desire in their own mind and only are curious about how others feel or in a position to just want to cause an argument without obtaining a legitimate and rational means of agreement to gain results. Instead of resolution , they look for conflict. There is nothing wrong with a healthy debate , but if it gets personal as the second question seems to imply then their basis for argument is not for objective answers but subjective opinions which can be generally misunderstood and particularly misleading thus gaining no advantage for anyone but only confusion and possibly hard feelings .
