This is according to Lisa Ling (formerly of the Veiw, now w/ ABC and Oxygen channel), Some 60 million child slaves in India. Chinese recently shut down a plant ran on child slave labor, Philipines, ThaiLand, and Veitnam has a problem with child prostitution and parts of Africa like Angola, Sri Lanka and Congo people are forced into slave labor.
How can this happen now? (and don't even bring up greedy American corporations oppressing 3rd world countries and enslaving the populus, no ones buying it!)

In India, most the children forced into slave labor / child prostitution were sold by their parents or older siblings. What are your thoughts on that?

Blaming corporations is a copout. It happens because various cultures do not value the individuals or life in general. For example, countries where the culture supports the domination of women, such as selling them for new husbands or, killing them if after marriage they aren’t acceptable to the husband’s family. Cultures which allow children to be used as soldiers in wars. Cultures which devalue anyone from other cultures which are not part of their culture.

In such cultures it is relatively easy to use various forms of enslavement because the enslaver considers the individuals enslave to not be equal and in some cases not even of the same species. This is often supported by religious groups.

Well I can't bring up the answer because it's forbidden, but I would not give a nationality to those corporations. And it will remain like that as long as people want the cheapest thing possible - as that can only be made through the cheapest labour possible.
