Okay, so far i've posted these two questions,

and basically to summarize them up, my computer, hp pavilion, got the blue screen of death within 3 days of buying it. Many people said this was common, and others said i should take it back right away. So if its common, then why should i take it back? Because if i exchange this computer for the same one, it'll still have windows vista on it, and it's microsoft, so isn't there the greatest possibility that this'll happen again?

The major question here is why is this such a big deal? I'm not really into computers, so if someone could explain it to me, it would make more sense.

Look at it this way, you've heard of the lemon law for cars? Its like you have a lemon for a computer. Take it back, and get a different one.

It isn't likely to happen with a new computer, but it just depends on *your* patience! You should probably quit placing the question here and ACT if you truly want that computer! (Of course I'm not truly trying to get on your case!)

HP, in my experience, has excellent tech support. My HP, purchased in 1/06, went south twice during the warranty period, both times, were from overheating. The first time, all that failed was one of the two memory cards. The second time, I lost the fan, both memory cards, the motherboard, and the hard drive. Both times, I had BSoD and had to re-install all software and personal data (grrr...I'm a website developer and a freewheel software adventurer, so lots of software installs!)

Lucky for me, I have another laptop maintained as a "mirror image" so it took only about three days.

If I buy again, I'll get another IBM/Lenovo (heh, or a Mac Pro?), much as I enjoy my HP. Either way, I'd return your HP straightaway unless you're willing to put up with a, say, two-week send-in+return through HP. They're good, but it's your delay...YOU have to decide.

My straight answer is: Just continue to use the computer. You don't need to return it! unless the computer is continue to blue screen of death every 3 days ;)

My friendly advices:
Computer is also like a car. You should do maintenance on them. You can't buy a car and not do proper routine maintenance and still expect the car will perform well right? Treat your PC the same like you treat your car :)
