My husband (50 years old) is undergoing "acu pressure" treatments, after he got up 1 morning with a stiff/swollen right arm. He found it helpful and his arm is nearly back to normal, but since then he's been advised to take salt with his coffee!!

I haven't heard of that, but there might be lots of folk rememdies like that which actually work. You didn't mention how much salt in coffee. A pinch? Teaspoon? Half a cup?

If it's just a tiny amt, it won't hurt you. YOu get way more salt in the canned and processed foods.

When I rarely eat a burger, I always add salt to it, seems to taste better, and I "feel better" doing it. I really doubt I'm deficcient in salt.

Hope his arm is okay now. I'm 55 male firmly entrenched in middle-age, and desperately working to keep myself together from falling apart!!

In addition the obvious taste improvement by putting a nice heaping spoonful of salt in a steaming cup of coffee, if should raise your blood pressure as well. Additionally, increasing your salt intake materially will also help you retain fluid, a nice side benefit for swollen body parts.

I heard that putting salt in coffee can make people nauseous. I heard about kids doing it to get out of going to school.
