I would not go. NASA is not as great and safe as it was in the days of Apollo. In the sixties and seventies they were even working with the international metric system. Now they have fallen back to the outdated isolated system of "imperial" measurement units. They managed to goof a Mars landing with that. I would wait until NASA and USA shows some positive progress again.

I would say, thanks for the compliment, but I am not suited to do this all by myself, nobody is. It will require a team of engineers, scientists, support staff, etc to esablish a colony on Mars. It will still need supplies from Earth for quite a while before it becomes (assuming it does become) self sustaining. When you have a team, a plan, funding, and two back up plans, give me a call and I'll be glad to go.

No, I would not go. I have a nice life here. That, and the radiation types that no human being has ever been exposed to because no human being has ever been to Mars are a pretty big problem with me. Also, who the heck am I going to play for on Mars? There aren't any blues-rock clubs there! ;)

That, and I'd probably get motion sick on the flight.

No. Mars is not a nice place. It would be an interesting place to visit, as are the Sahara Desert or the South Pole, but Mars is not nearly as nice as those places, so I wouldn't want to live there.

every person can *declare* yet another planet; getting every person to renowned that's yet another remember. the present state of regulation (and that i exploit the term loosely, with the aid of fact that's a custom quite than a ratified treaty) is that every physique bodies outdoors Earth do no longer belong to every person and might't be claimed different than with the aid of international settlement. this is style of like Antarctica immediately. And sure, this means that human beings advertising land on Mars or Mercury are engaged in fraud, with the aid of fact they're advertising what isn't theirs to sell.

Of course not.

Why on Earth would I want to go and live on a distant, dead planet with no life, nothing to do and no real comforts. Not to mention no TV.

Without a doubt or hesitation. The meek shall inherit the earth, the rest of us are going to the stars.

I was born a couple centuries too soon.
If I could choose my fate, it would be in an attempt to leave this planet before I die.

NASA? I think it's actually McDonald's and Starbucks that's randomly selecting people. You know how they take over...
