Back in the time of King Henry I (II?) the king had Absolute Power, meaning that, if he didn't like a law made by someone before him, he could change it, just like that. It also meant that all his friends (Lords and Ladies) got special treatment and could virtually break the law any time they wiished, whereas the common folk would be treated differently. Well, the common folk got upset with this nonsense and caused a mini-uprising, demanding that all people be treated equally, including the king and his buddies. Henry was pressured into enacting something called the Rule of Law. From then on, each person, in each jurisdiction, was treated equally. If the king broke the law, he could also be punished in the same way as any common person would be, as long as his infraction of the law was similar in facts compared to the other folks who were sentenced before him, for the same kind of crime / misdemeanor. So, the Rule of Law still stands and is the basis for our laws in North America. We can predict how we will be treated if we break certain laws. The President or Prime Minister is no more awbove the law than we are. Well, that's the way it's supposed to work anyway. And up here in Canada, it generally does.

Golly gee - you answered your own question without giving a shred of evidence or a single example.
Justice under the legal system means that valid evidence is required to prove a violation and with in the court the prescribed irrelevant factors (race, creed, color, etc.) are ignored. Valid evidence is determined by standards that apply to all trials and excludes certain things like hearsay and rumor.

I think corruption is everywhere, but many people are trying to change that. If you think something is wrong with your justice system, then go out on the front lines and help make the changes you believe are needed.
