depending on the size of the tree, probably about $100- $300... sometimes they will lower the price if you let them keep the wood

It will depend on the size, location, and condition of the tree. Big rotten trees right next to your house are high risk, so high costs. Smaller, healthy trees not near your house (or power lines) or other trees will be less expensive. What ever you do, make sure they have INSURANCE and EXPERIENCE. Even a small tree falling on someone will kill them. (think of how heavy a single log is). I actually knew a few people who tried to do it themselves, and had no idea what they were doing, and splat!
Also, keep everyone in the house when the trees are being cut. It is just the safest bet.

Tree removal fees are based upon the difficulty in removing the tree. Of course difficulty is assessed by the size and location of the tree. Can the tree just be cut down, allowed to fall, and then be dismembered? Is it in a location where power lines or other structures interfere, requiring that the tree be dismembered as it still is standing ?

As an example, two years ago I needed to remove a LARGE tree from a rental property. Beautiful old tree, with a wingspan of over 150 feet. Trunk was over 6' in diameter.

Cost to remove? Over $11,000. Get an estimate from a tree removal service.
