I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant. I have been breaking out with welts all over for the past 3 days. I take a benadryl and it goes away for a little while. I had changed shampoo and bar soap so I thought it was that but I switched back to something that I have used before and I am still breaking out. So I guess that it isn'-t the change. The welts itch really bad. I also started putting baby oil on after shower but I stopped and I am still breaking out. I did change laundry detergent but I have been using it for a few months now, so that shouldn'-t be it. My mom told be that some women get a rash during pregnancy but this seems more like an allergic reaction. I am calling my doctor. But I just want to know if this has happened to anyone. This morning my lower back started itching and then before I knew it there was a big welt. The welts appear on my neck, arms, stomach, and back. And also my face oh and the palms of my hands.. Please help!!!!!!!

definately more sensitive. my skin changed dramatically its crazy! Since monday I started noticing LIL RED BUMPS that looks like tiny pimples all over my belly. And it itches but I don't wanna scratch it because i don't wanna spread it and all. I'm seeing my DR today about it. I'm convinced that what i have is PUPP or I'm allergic to the Palmers cocoa butter creme. I used it twice on Sunday and monday morning i had those bumps. So yes its normal. Pregnant women do tend to get red itchy blotch spots on the skin. Which will go away after giving birth.

If you notice itchy red bumps or welts on your belly and possibly your thighs and buttocks as well, you may have a condition called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP for short). Up to one percent of pregnant women develop PUPPP, which is harmless but can be quite uncomfortable. See your practitioner so she can make sure it's not a more serious problem, provide treatment to make you more comfortable, and refer you to a dermatologist if necessary. Also be sure to call her if you feel intense itchiness all over your body, even if you don't have a rash. It could signal a liver problem.
