The Life and Times of the wicked witch of the west. It's really good so far but.... does anyone who's read it feel like the author wasn't feeling too creative when he named the Quadling "Turtle Heart" or the nanny "Nanny"?

It's not creative at all, he stole the ideas and characters from the Wizard of Oz series. That's just lazy.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I mean, look at the story it's based off of: you've got the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tinman.

It's a really depressing book. I liked the musical a lot more becuase it 1. was less confusing 2. had more Fiyero 3. had amazing music. Check it out after you finish Wicked. Then go read Son of a Witch and tell me if it's any good.

hehe. It wasn't creative, but I don't think it was supposed to be. I mean, Nanny was a nanny, and servants and slaves in that time didn't get creative names. As for Turtle Heart, his name was something else, but translated into that in their language.

I love the book.

I feel ya. It's a great book. I just tried to focus on the stuff that he really put is imagination to use for in this book. But to be honest, I can NEVER watch the Wizard of OZ and see it the same again.
Hope you enjoy. Try to catch the Broadway version, too.

Love everything about the book and play. Read 'Son of a Witch" when you are done.

I think he meant it to be like that. I don't know maybe there's some hidden meaning or something. It's a great book though.
