Absolutely... I found & returned a wallet containing $300 years back. The person that'd lost it was a Vet that was on the verge of being evicted from his home along with his family. The most important thing about returning the wallet to him wasn't what it did for him, it was what it did for me. That increased my sense of self worth far more than any $300 could. I didn't accept a reward, because what I got out of returning the money was invaluable. Chuckle, I'd thought about keeping the money but have always had a lot of self esteem because I returned it. That has been 20 yrs, but I still like me for what I did.

No. Not again that is. I did that once and the person told me to stay where I was and she would come to me. Half hour later two cop cars show up and I'm arrested for stealing her purse. Stupid cops had me in question for over two hours. Finally they clued in when I asked them, how would this woman know exactly where I was if I stole her purse and ran off. And why would I just sit and wait there knowing she knows where I am. People are so stupid and cops are dumber. Next time, I'll keep the money and ditch the wallet or in this case purse in the lake.

You should,if not it is considered "stealing",or what if it was your money and wallet, would you want it back intact?I have found on two different occasions wallets and turned them in to customer service in the store I was shopping in,it is the right thing to do!If the wallet contained $1.00 or $500.00 it should not matter.Do the right thing and return it with all of its contents!!!

Absolutely, I have lost that amount just before the holidays and it was incredible upsetting, and the right thing to do is to return it, it might be feeding a family or fixing a car or even buying some ones medicine, Of course it should be returned...

Take the money drop the wallet in the post box. People who carry that much cash are just asking for trouble.

I would. Not only is it the right thing to do, but I would feel guilty if I kept it. The owner earned that money, and just because they lost their wallet, doesn't mean they deserve to lose their money all together.

Yes if I knew who the wallet belonged to I would return it, but if it didn't have any information about who it belonged to I would probably keep the money!

I might take the money and leave the wallet behind for someone else to have to deal with.

That sounds horrible, but I'm just being honest.

It would be extremely tempting but I would return it b/c I would want someone to return it to me even though the majority of people in this world would probably keep it.

I'd keep the wallet and give the money back... Just for the irony of it.
