The very instant you have any form of matter whatsoever, down to the building blocks of electrons and quarks, you have gravitation. So if there was no matter in the beginning of time, then no. Also a thought is the concept of anti-matter, which pretty much does the opposite of gravity (accelerates away from). All of this needs to be considered in answering your question.

And whoever said that gravity needs something to act against and is a relative force, i.e. equal reaction, is wrong. Don't know where you read that or heard it, but do some more research.

Socratus, you need to change the name. It sounds like Socrates, and Socrates was such a wise man. Then there's you.

Gravitation or Nothing.......Hmmmmmm
Nothing or Gravitation.......Hmmmmmm

I would venture to say Nothing, that is, before the Big Bang. Doesn't that make sense?

It takes MASS to create a gravitational field.
The answer MUST be nothing.

Nothing probably. Gravitation has to be relative to something.

you mean gravity, there is no such word as gravitation but there is gravitational (pull).

but gravity isw a form of force, case it is a form of force and with every action, there has to be an equal and opposite reaction.

but gravity is reletive force so there was something else, not nothing, and not gravity.

.You must have matter before there is gravity.

There must also be a space-time continuum.

Neither existed until shortly after the big bang.

Remember gravity is not a "true" force, it is a distortion in time.

Nothing. You can't have gravity without two objects.
