We had to replace our central air this summer and we put in a nice trane - 12 seer and quiet. I also got the uv light and clean effects air system. We are planning to move in about 2 years.

it will help if you live in a "hott" area, tranes are ok but carrier brand would have been better...small things that are costly will help sell your house. roof, windows, doors, new flooring, etc

I would think very much YES. I personally wouldn't buy a home without first making sure it had a nice central air unit and it sounds like the one you had installed is a very good one.

A newer and high efficiency unit will help sell the house. Most buyers don't know good from bad, only old from new(er). You did not hurt yourself by installing the unit.

I imagine it definitely wouldn't hurt...especially if you put your house on the market in the summer (I noticed that several houses currently for sale in my neighborhood have 'central air' right on the for sale sign).
