(Who knows?) Ignorance!
(Who cares?) Apathy!

Jerry Yang's first move as Y! CEO could be remembered for signing off on the negotiations with ink from Terry Semel's pen...hehehe

By acquiring Rivals, are Mr. Yang & Yahoo hoping to deepen their appeal to "hard core" sports fans or is this simply Yahoo moving their rook instead of the queen?

Instead of considering more dramatic moves to revive its sagging stock (like bidding for Facebook Inc.'s popular online social networking site or combining with Internet auctioneer eBay Inc. or Microsoft Corp.'s MSN.com) they still seem to be dilly dallying around by attempting to fill some gaps in their sports section.

On Yahoo's defense, it must be somewhat difficult to see a clearer road ahead when they continue to get smoked by that 'other' engine in the valley.

Yahoo already has an excellent sports section, and I'm sure that will be strengthened with the purchase of Rivals. It will give them plenty of content to add to theirs site when needed, and it will draw in those who are Rivals subscribers.

Personally, I'd love to see them open up Rivals and make it free for everyone, but I don't see it happening.

It's 2017 now.
Rivals.com does not have a CEO.
They are owned by Yahoo now, which is owned by Verizon now.
So who is the person, or people, at Yahoo who oversee Rivals.com?

No one seems able to answer that.
