I have my differences with Mayor Bloomberg, but I'm liking the idea of him running as an independent, despite how much it would be like Perot's candidacy.

If he did run, would you vote for him? Yes or no is fine.

I think his willingness to legislate very narrowly, like the trans-fat ban, is a problem, too.

And I don't think an independent is a wasted vote. To me, a wasted vote is someone who doesn't represent your true values.

I don't think people know that much about his views towards the War in Iraq, our troubles with Iran, abortion, gun control, et c.

If he is going to do this he needs to get the word out on his stance, especially since he just resigned from the GOP and is now Independent.

No.

And besides, as an independent, he would have no allies in Congress and not be able to get anything done. Sad, but the government would likely shut down over the course of four years as America deteriorates. People would ultimately be very upset with him and nobody would like him.

I also think the trans-fat ban is a huge mistake. As a patient with a chronic digestive disease in the colon, I rely on fatty foods that I can more easily digest and don't give me as much pain and discomfort. Fatty foods also keep my weight up. I thnk Bloomberg is an idiot, and it is too obvious he is out of touch. He did not think through that trans-fat thing very well.

I don't know if I would vote for him, but he would make the campaign more interesting for both parties since he now has, as most of the candidates do, a loyalty to a party. Here, Bloomberg stands without a party letting people decide if they like him for him to be President. Also, he has A LOT of money to spend that could help him win it, something that even Democrats and Republicans don't have a lot of.

No. I wouldn't vote for him. I don't think he'll be another Perot as Perot was far better known across the country as a highly visible leader of a major corporation. Most people outside of New York don't know much about Bloomberg relative to what they knew about Perot.

No. A vote for an independent is a wasted vote. He has no chance of winning and very few people really know who he is.

It would take votes away from dem's. That is my opinion.

As for him being President, NO WAY. we would have no fast food, no cars, he would be going close to socialism.

No, I would not vote for him.
I support him running however (I think it will hurt Dem's far more than Rep's).

...so more power to him.

Only if he supports our individual rights, doesn't make new stupid laws, and enforces the current ones.
