I know someone that is really shy too and something as simple as asking someone a question they don't know is very inconceivable. I mean even to ask the waitress for ketchup is a hard task. All I can say is you just have to do it. Sometimes having a friend with you when you take the steps to talk to other people will help a whole lot. Remind yourself that these people are not here to hurt you. Asking or talking to people like waitresses will give you the practice you need because these don't require complete conversations. I can understand why you may feel this way but as you grow into adulthood it really is a great idea that you start building some social skills. Since you are suffering sooo much being this way you don't want to pass this down to your children. I don't know if you have been hurt by someone before but also talking to people you can trust about your feelings would help too. Maybe you should see a school counselor or even a therapist. Either way you have to open up and let people in. The worst thing that could happen is you don't like what has been said. You have the choice to take it or leave it. Good Luck!!!

Remember to ask for sauce or any condiments when you first order. You're not that shy to place an order for food so just tell them don't forget what ever extra you want. Then wait at the counter to make sure you sauce is in there, same goes for drive thru don't drive off without checking your bag. It's that simple.

Just remember, they won't remember you if you're polite. Just say in a nice voice "Excuse me, may I get some sauce please?" They'll give you the sauce without a second thought, and then just smile and say "Thank you!" and go about your business. At the end of the day, they will NOT be sitting in the back room and snickering about you.
