Do you ladies think that your baby knows when he/she is being watched? Like when we have ultrasounds done, do they know they are on TV? My last appointment I was hysterical because the baby was flipping and moving around like crazy. He looked like he/she was waving; his little hand was going back and forth and everything. The doctor had to print like 6 different pictures because he was moving so much that none were clear enough. I know it's silly but are they aware? My mom said that because I had a vaginal ultrasound that maybe the baby felt threatened and that’s why he was moving around so much. What do you ladies think?

This is NOT a silly question. You are going through a wonderful experience in life that you will always treasure and remember. The gift of life is special to anyone that is an active participant. Your baby has already developed senses and are using these senses everyday. Whether it be the light from the ultrasound machine, the vibration, the doctor speaking, your baby is picking up on these with his/her senses. Have you ever hear of people reading, singing, or playing music for their unborn child? You child can hear you! Their skin and eyelids are so thin and delicate right now. Enjoy these precious moments while they last. Good Luck with your newborn.

It seems like they would know....even something like when the baby is moving a lot and the second my boyfriend looks at my tummy (it doesn't matter how long he sits there and stares) she will not move...but the second (literally second) he looks away, she starts moving. She does that to me also, i'll see my stomach move like crazy and the second i lift up my shirt to watch, she stops!! It's strange, she does it during sonograms (i've had several), where she's moving and the doctor can see that clearly but the second they put the doppler on my tummy, she quits!!

I really think it's just coincidence and that they don't know, but i think they can feel the doppler on your tummy or even vaginally when done that way and that could cause the reaction. It's amazing though!!!!

No, your baby has active and non active times. You just happened to be trying to get a picture during an active time.

With my second they had to sedate me/baby to get a 1 hour tracing of his heart beat. The doctor said that it was unusual but normal and the sign of a healthy baby.

As far as the vaginal ultrasound, your mothers opinion is old fashioned and the baby doesn't have a clue anything was in there.

Good luck!

Every thing that lives, breathes, eats; moves etc; or is waiting in line to do so; scientifically and logically has to be in such mental frame in which he can know and even learn; that is why that thing ends up living, breathing, eating, and moving.

There is no question otherwise.

This fact is difficult for science and medicine of the mordern times to prove.

Many religions of the world know the secret behind the working of this phenomena; the HINDU religion being the prominent one.

These religions who understand the knowledge and the science behind this phenomena advice that during such time the mother should routienly be in attendance of god; through the medium of either their respective religious institutions, religious sermons, recitation and listening of religious verses and sermons etc.

The HINDU religion; knowing that all strengths and powers required by man for living, working, acting, and performing wisely during his life; is not only available with the sun and the moon but is also delivered to him by the sun and the moon through the medium of their respective rays.

It has such verses which when are, spoken to and listened to by the baby in stomach, they enable and empower him with positive energies and nature of both the sun and the moon, and help him live a beautiful life of bliss, and of the glory, bightness, and brilliance of the moon, the sun, and the good nature.

The ultrasound machine does produce heat and sound that the baby can hear... he may be reacting to that, but he may also be active because of something you ate before the appointment. or he's just an active baby.... My baby was very active - and still is at 5 months old!!

When my friend got an ultrasound, the baby was actually covering her eyes as if the light was blinding her. We got pictures to prove it. She would also start moving alot during the ultrasounds. So yes, I think they do know.

I don't think it is aware that it is being watched. It is cute when it looks like it is waving to you, but it is a movement it is making all the time whether being "watched" or not.
Of course they are aware that there environment is being pushed and proded at and they are getting pushed on so tend to kick and move more. Who wouldn't.
Even when my doctor pushes on my abdomen to get the hearbeat each month she often gets an earfull when he gives a huge kick.

I think so.When I was pregnant, it was like anytime I'd have an appointment, my daughter would show out. She'd be be more active that 30 min. than she would all night.& now OMG! You've gotta see her. She is such a ham in front of the camera.Maybe it just means your baby will be photogenic
