It all depends. If I was swimming in a river and a bridge crossed over it and someone told me to go and jump off of it, I might just do that. But is you are referring to that old saying, " Go jump off a bridge", I would never do a stupid thing that would injure my life.

sometimes those little bridges over big bodies of water are better than a diving board...

That would depend on three things: how high the bridge is from the ground, how sturdy the safety harness I'd be wearing is, and how much money is involved.
