Go visit Cuba, no one is stopping you, just don't come back crying if something goes wrong with your plans or something happens to you. I know several people who have been to Cuba. If you are not going it's because you have an agenda not the government.

When you get there, look and see just how much more free the Cubans are if you think the US isn't free.

You can go and visit Cuba anytime you want. You just can't fly direct from the US. Many US citizens travel to Cuba every day. We are a free nation with laws, without laws we would not be free.

No, we are not free and never have been. Freedom is an illusion. Since 9-11 we have had our freedoms steadily eroded and then taken away. We are more or less under a fascist dictatorship now. We don't have freedom of the press, because it's controlled by the corporations that support those in power, and if anyone says the wrong thing against the government, that person is harassed and jailed, just like in Communist nations. We don't have freedom of assembly in regards to protesting, because groups not in favor of our present government often cannot get a permit to be on the streets, or they are restricted in where they can be.
The U.S. government doesn't want American citizens going to Cuba because they don't want Americans to find out that Cubans have it better than we do in a lot of areas, specifically health care. Go see Michael Moore's new movie Sicko for proof.

Freedom means freedom from tyrannical government.
When your government does away with the foundation of civilized legal protection from such tyranny, i.e. haebus corpus or due process of law, then you must question how much freedom citizens actually possess, or what kind of foundation this is laying for further abuse (secret mass detention facilities on U.S. soil to be built by Haliburton, for example)

BRIAN H says,
>>"... name one gov. in the world who gives you more than the USA. you can,t..... is there another volunteer military in the world like ours, no. nuff said. .."

Canada has a volunteer army, I suspect a number of countries do, as well... let's see... oh, yes, look at these few dozen other countries which also have a volunteer army:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volunteer_military

how long can the US military stay volunteer? Is this why we want more uneducated youngsters? To give them something to do in the military?

How about standard of living as a measure of "freedom?" It gives people more freedom to do things. There are other kinds of freedom, freedom to breathe unpolluted air, and drink uncontaminated water, freedom to be educated... many other countries seem to place more priority on these than the USA, i'm sorry to say.

Many countries have universal socialized medicine, that equals freedom from illness and death... the USA sadly, does not. A number of countries have higher indicators than the U.S. on various factors, such as life expectancy (USA ranked 45th according to CIA factbook rankings), infant mortality, public debt (astronomical in the Bush regime, what about "freedom" from financial slavery for the next few generations?

Try reading the US Constitution. It says we are free and allows the government to make laws and restrict its citizens. We are the freest nation on this planet. Why do you think the rest of the world wants to come here. Peace

Simple comparison, if you are able. Compare the freedoms in USA to virtually any country in the world.
Pessismists like you are never satisfied. The glass is 0.01% empty, arrgh, the sky is falling.

It's a long story. Starts back with the birth of Communism.

The Communist (Lenin and Stalin) said that Communism would encircle America and it would fall into their hands like a ripe fruit. When Cuba became Communistic, America did not invade, though the Monroe Doctrine, stated that it should use force to stop expansion of European influence in the Western hemiphere.

You can go to Cuba. Renounce the American citizenship, assuming you are one, and move to Cuba. You'll get tired of it, just like Lee Harvey Oswald got tired of Russian Communism.

The "USA" means "within" it's borders. We can go visit Cuba but we had better expect some difficulties because of our relationship with them.
What freedoms?
We don't have to show "papers" to travel from state to state.
We don't get shot when we voice against the government.
We are able to choose what religion to believe in.
