We need a 15-30 minute team building activity to make this team loosen up and have a laugh. There are 8 in the group. Any ideas?

We did a fun game last Christmas in the office. There were about 15-20 of us, but it could work for a smaller group I think.

It's basically a clean version of an old drinking game.

First, give each person 5 poker chips. Everyone sits in a circle and you go around the circle declaring "I Never....". Pick someone to start and he/she says "Well, I Never ". Everyone else that has done whatever was mentioned has to give the speaker 1 chip. Once you lose all your chips, you're out of the game.

For example:
Tom starts and says "Well, I never smoked marijuana". Mary, Tim and Bob have so they each give Tom a chip.
Next Bob says "I've never been to California" and he collects a chip from Mary.
Susie then says "I've never been divorced" and gets chips from Tom, Tim and John.

Continue on until only 1 person remains or you're sick of the game. And you get to learn a lot about your team that you probably didn't already know.

How about a tandem story? You need no equipment, etc. and it can be a lot of fun. One person starts with the first line of a story, such as: "Once upon a time there was a " the second person makes up a second line, and so on. I've done this and it was hilarious. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Give them a sheet for a twin sized bed folded in half. they all have to stand on it and open it up. then tuck the half they were just standing on under what they are now meanwhile no one can touch the floor... takes usually around ten minutes, very interesting to watch :-)

I had lots of fun doing it at summer camp, and you have a smaller group, so see if you can make them stand on a quarter of it. Smirk.
