Supposedly, the air exits the car through the back window and no air enters through the front windows. Causing less and less oxygen. Is this true?

It's true about the carbon monoxide if you're talking about the tailgate window of an SUV or pickup. The air swirls around a lot for cars with flat backs, and picks up some exhaust.

The air would only completely leave the car if you were driving faster than the speed of sound. The rarefaction is negligible at highway speeds. It won't even pop your ears.

No, what happens is that Carbon Monoxide from the rear exhaust is coming in from the back if the rear window is open.

So you do get some air coming in, but it is poisonous air.
