Good question, he certainly is big enough to see when he takes his lead from first base. Maybe he was the back-end of a double steel 48 of those 50 times. Actually, for a big guy he has deceptive speed and if the pitcher doesn't keep an eye on him he will take off.

A lot of people associate stealing with speed.
Of course, having speed is beneficial; however, being smart about stealing is just as advantageous.
The big guys in MLB are not exactly slow. They may not run as fast as Ricky Henderson, but they don't have square wheels either.
If Adam knows how to get a good secondary lead and read the trajectory of the pitches, he puts himself in a better situation to be successful on the steal.

Yes, and so is Pujols and he can run the basepads. There is a reason that Dunn plays outfield. I'm not saying he is amazing out there but the guy can cover some ground. Not all people who can run are 100lb. leadoff hitters who can be blown away at any moment by a sudden gust of wind.

when you are 8 feet tall it only takes you about 6 steps to get form base to base. plus the pitchers don't look over at him because he is kinda spooky.

Adam Dunn, despite how big he is, has good, quick legs and good basestealing instincts.

idk i mean he's a power hitter not a runner you never see him hit a double or a triple. He either walks, strikes out, singles, or homers. I've watched baseball since I was like 2 (1995) and he's stole a base like twice.lol
