Yes, Hitler can absolutely be called a great leader despite how evil he ended up being. He galvanized and united the entire population of Germany and if you really look at his economic policies and their results, you'll see he did a lot of positive work in that area. It's just too bad he was a psycho and didn't stick to economics...

Well anyone can lead and if people choose to follow then one is a leader. And a Leader can be a Decider. Certainly Hitler had trhe Moxie to bully a nation into granting him Dictatorial Powers and he did lead Germany into the Heck of World War Two.
That said - - - HITLER was an idiot which only goes to show how stupid were the people around him. My criteria for being a 'great leader' is a leader who leaves his Country Better off then when he or she started. When Hitler took power Germany was in sad shape but actually the Nation was on the mend, just as in America the worse of the financial crisis seemed to be over - - - which is why the Nazis were in a rush to seize Power in 1932. Hitler was smart enough to know that a prosperous Germany would view him and the Nazis as Preposterous.

Hitler left Germany in ruins. Her cities bombed and guttered her infrastructure in ruins her armies and navy and air forces battered to a pulp, Hitler left Germany torn apart with huge chunks of territory in Soviet hands. At the exact moment Hitler chiomped down oin a cyanide capsule while drilling a bullet into his skull, thousands upon thousands of German women and boys and more than a few farm animals were being raped by Soviet soldiers.

That in my opinion discredits Hitler from being labled Great - - - a Great Mistake, yes, but a Great Leader - - - NO.

And whoever calls Hitler a Military Genius does not understand History.
Peace......

Unmitigated and absolute belief in an ideal that is first and foremost in one's mind and soul.He appeared at the right time at the right place..same as the rest of them..the power to arouse a people by extravagant oration and violent backup..and a promise..to make each and every person his friend and saviour..he was not inevitably a great leader because of his mad egoism and failure to guage his true position in the scheme of things. He was/is a monster of flocks of sheep of many colours and creeds.Very Sad.

firstly one has to know he indeed did lead german to a prosperous economic boom any country could not achieve after the wwi and the vienna settlement which was meant to deprive his countrys growth, however a regime that kills its own people can not be hailed as a great one in this case we talking of hitler.one again can go on and say that a leader who can command that much loyalty that hitler had from his generals is a no doubt a good one.

that's all a question of perspective, fanatic Muslims consider binladden a great leader even though he targets innocent women and children, many would consider Cesar a great leader, but id bet the people of Gaul at the time and a few senators disagree,

A great leader doesn't necessarily mean a moral leader. Hitler can be considered a great leader because he enthralled millions of people with his message of race and regeneration, and got them to do what he wanted.

Unfortunately for the German people, it all ended badly for them as they were crushed by the Allies in World War II.

Although he executed 10 million people not to mention who he killed in the war itself- he was one of the greatest leaders in history. He was able to get most of Germany to bow down to him. He was an amazing public speaker and his plans for the execution were executed with flying colors. Although he was not a morally good person, he planned the impossible and was able to pursue most of his wishes. Germany and Italy were able to take over most of Europe- clearly he did something right. His only flaw was in the procrastination in the building of the greatest fence/wall ever built: the Atlantic Wall.
