I'm sure I'm missing something very basic, so please excuse my ignorance but my dilema is this: I have a dlink DI-524 router that I want to use to feed the internet to three computers. My current configuration is cable modem>router>SunRocket gizmo. I thought it would be as easy as plugging a Cat5 cable into the back of my router ports and plugging the other end into ethernet card on the back of Mac, but so far the only way I can get the internet over to the Mac is to directly plug it into the back of the cable modem. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer.

Have you configure the router (DI-524) yet? Configure the LAN & WAN IP address, DHCP server, etc, etc?
If you just buy a brand new router, it should be configured first before you can use it. You should read the manual book first on how you configure the router itself.

Then, If everything OK, you can connect the cable back-to-back, Set the TCP/IP settings at your MAC to get IP address automatically.

What the hell is a SunRocket gizmo? It should be as easy as plugging your Mac into your router with a Cat5. It's that easy for me, anyways. It shouldn't matter what router you have. The only thing I can think of is this SunRocket thing you mention. I've never heard of it.

Make sure that you have the Modem connnected to the WAN port on router (not a LAN port). And your SunRocket gizmo is connected to a LAN port (although they recomment putting the gizmo between the modem and router). The router should automatically route your computer (which is connected to a LAN port) to the modem.
